When you are in the goalie position, one great tip for you to help you prevent the lacrosse goal is to try to mimic the actions of the offensive player. For example, if the offensive player is carrying their own stick high, raise yours up as well. If they are holding the stick in a lower position, try to carry your own in that same position. The offensive player with some experience will try to throw you off and change their hold repeatedly so it can be a little difficult to carry off, but if you’re paying close attention, this is a good way to avoid letting them make the goal.
